
Application Process
All applications to the competition are submitted via this website.
Filmmakers register to take part in a chosen award category then receive confirmation and further information via email.
The final submission of the work is due by January 15, 2022.
Ten finalists are selected within each category and one winner will be chosen for each category by a panel of expert judges.
Who Can Take Part
The Coffee Film Awards is designed to be as inclusive as possible. Therefore we apply the following guidelines:
Professional filmmakers, students and filmmakers in the making are all welcome to apply
There is no age, nationality or geographical restriction
Group work is encouraged
Judging Criteria
All submitted works for The Coffee Film Awards must be inspired by the theme of coffee or coffee culture. Applications will be judged by a joint film industry panel and senior creative leaders from the coffee sector.

There is no cost to apply.
Innovative and budget film making is encouraged
All work submitted must be inspired by the theme of coffee or coffee culture
Submissions must be the original work of each applicant/applicant group
There are no restrictions on the genre of film content, so long as it does not infringe upon the values of the competition nor the terms and conditions
In order to allow for universal judging of the works, subtitles in English are required
The Prizes and Opportunity
The winner of the Independent Short Film Category will receive a $5,000 cash prize, plus products and services from sponsors and supporters*. All other category winners will receive a trophy and official recognition of their award.
Participation will also provide competitors with significant exposure and valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders and to vast consumer audiences.
All shortlisted films from each category will be shown at The London Coffee Festival in March 2022 (Subject to COVID-19 restrictions) and across eight other selected international coffee festivals including New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo with a combined audience of over 100,000 visitors.
Selected works will also be displayed in a comprehensive film library on this website and will be promoted extensively via social media and other channels.
